Lesson 2.3b: A complete MetaMask walkthrough

MetaMask is a popular web3 wallet extension that allows users to interact with decentralized applications (dApps) and websites.

Let’s walk through the process of installing, setting up, and connecting MetaMask to your browser together.

Install MetaMask

1. Go to the MetaMask website and click on "Get MetaMask" in the top right corner.

2. Select your browser or mobile platform (iOS or Android) and follow the installation prompts.

Create a New Wallet

1. Open MetaMask and click on "Create a Wallet".

2. Enter a strong password and confirm it.

3. Click on "Create" to generate your wallet.

SEY UP WALLET

1. You'll see a list of 12 words (your seed phrase). Copy and store them safely offline (e.g., on paper or in a fireproof safe).

2. Confirm that you've saved your seed phrase by clicking the checkbox.

3. Click on "Next" and then "Done".

SET UP YOUR ACCOUNT

1. You'll be asked to set up your account. Enter a username and password.

2. Optional: Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for added security.

FUND YOUR WALLET

1. You can now deposit cryptocurrencies like Ethereum (ETH) or other ERC-20 tokens into your MetaMask wallet.

2. Use the "Add Token" feature to add other cryptocurrencies to your wallet or send from Your CEX.

You're now ready to explore the web3 space, use MetaMask to interact with decentralized applications (dApps), play blockchain games, or participate in DeFi (decentralized finance) activities.

Remember to always keep your seed phrase and account information secure.
